The story
What it's about
Veronika Stolbova is going to marry the mayor's son Ilya Proskurin. But on the eve of the wedding, Veronika meets her former lover Tolya and the old feelings return with renewed vigor, and now he is already taking Veronika away right from the registry office.... The mayor is ready to avenge the disgrace, so Veronika and Tolya are forced to leave for another city. Happy lovers are trying to establish a life in a new place, but new challenges are encountered along the way, and life with Tolya is not at all like what he promised Veronika.... At a difficult moment, when Veronika is desperate and no longer hopes for help, fate brings her and Ilya together again.
