The story
What it's about
A short, overweight student uses the Neuro Link, an evolution of the Nerve Gear, to escape himself from the reality. But his skills in the virtual world brings him to the attention of Kuroyukihime, a popular student who introduces him to the Brain Burst.

6.1IMDbIn the year 2046, advanced neuro‑link technology called “Neuro Linkers” allow people to plug into virtual networks and immersive online worlds. Haruyuki Arita is a short, chubby, socially isolated junior high student who is frequently bullied by his classmates. To escape his reality, he spends hours online playing games where he excels, but feels powerless in real life. One day, he is suddenly introduced to a mysterious program called Brain Burst by Kuroyukihime, the popular vice‑president of the student council. Brain Burst is more than a game—it allows players (called Burst Linkers) to accelerate their cognitive processes so that time appears to slow down around them.

Although Haru seemingly dominates the match to begin with, Seiji manages to trap him and use his Demonic Command ability to steal Haru's flight ability. As Haru tries to keep what happened a secret from Takumu, their friendship is put under pressure.
